Hotpropertyinvestor.com Says UK Property Prices Down Again in August

(ContentDesk) September 9, 2005 -- House prices fell again in August, with the interest rate cut at the start of the month appearing to do little to revive the marketplace, figures show. The average cost of a property in England and Wales fell by 0.1% in August, according to property website Hometrack. Prices fell by 0.2% in July.It is the 14th month in succession that property prices have gone down.Hometrack says prices have now fallen by 3.7% over the last year. Interest rates were lowered to 4.5% on 4 August. The Bank of England reduced the base rate by one quarter of a percent, the first change since August last year. The average cost of a property in England and Wales is now ?161,000, almost ?7,000 less than in June 2004.Buyers' market"According to http://www.hotpropertyinvestor.co.uk UK property prices have failed to respond to the recent interest rate cut and continue their stagnating negative trend, which has now gone on for well over a year," said housing economist John Wriglesworth."While transactions have picked up a little this month, a further reduction in new buyers and a further increase in supply suggest no prospect of price rises in the near future." Mr.

Wriglesworth added that buyers were now generally seeking discounts of more than 6% of a property's asking price.Only three areas across England and Wales saw prices increase during August - Leicestershire (by 0.8%), east London (0.1%) and the West Midlands (also 0.1%).Prices remained level in 21 counties and fell in 33, with Avon seeing the biggest decline - down 0.6%.It was followed by Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, West Sussex and Surrey. For additional information on UK property news

Benefits of Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is a therapy that uses aromatic oils, which are derived from leaves, bark, roots, seeds, resins and flowers of plants. They are blended in carrier oil (another oil used for dilution), before being used for body massages, inhalation and baths. It refreshes and de-stresses the mind and induces a sense of well-being. Since, the smell detection center in the human brain is closely linked with the emotional center, aromatherapy is said to affect your moods. Various essential oils are used in aromatherapy to obtain various results.

Some are great sleep inducers, some are great for the skin and some others are good stress busters. Aromatherapy oils may be inhaled directly (or steam inhaled), massaged into the skin or added to warm bath water. Needless to say, natural oils are better than synthetic oils as it proved better therapeutic benefits. Before use, these oils must be diluted with carrier oils such as almond, jojoba, sunflower or wheat germ oils. If concentrated oils...

What Good and Bad Fat can do to Your Health

THE FAT TYPES AND THEIR EFFECTS

High consumption of fat or of the combination fat and carbohydrates causes obesity, heart disease and other health problems. However the different types of fat have very different effects on the health. Here is a survey of the different fat categories and their effects:

Mono-unsaturated fat - This type of fat prevents heart disease and circulatory disease in moderate amounts.

Omega-6-poly-unsaturated fat - This fat type prevents heart disease if you do not consume too much of it. However it causes inflammatory reactions. This type of reactions are benign when they are moderate and when they are provoked to fight disease.

But a constant high inflammatory response is dangerous, and can cause rheumatism, heart trouble and cancer. A very high consumption of this type of fat is therefore dangerous.

Omega-3-poly-unsaturated fat - This type of fat prevents heart disease and reduces inflammatory...

An Introduction To Gas Prices

For the average person, gas prices have been a roller coaster ride. Over the years the price of gas has fluctuated so widely that consumers cannot count on the price to remain stable. The thirst for gas in the US can be gauged from the fact that the annual driving distance of 2.5 trillion miles per year for the US roughly equals to about 14,000 round trips to the sun. A whopping distance!

There are several other reasons for increase in prices of gas. Some parts of the US restrict the use of gasoline in order to meet stringent environmental standards since smog, generated by burning gasoline, accounts for maximum pollution.

Producing a cleaner variety of gasoline is challenging and entails problems in refining, distribution and storage making it costlier. This translates to a high demand for gas.

Gas prices fluctuate rapidly. They vary remarkably from one country to another, and even within one country. A March 2005 estimate put Amsterdam in the Netherlands,...

Determining the correct size of Grease Traps

Restaurants and other food service businesses generate literally tons of cooking oil, grease and food wastes every day. If this waste is not managed properly, it can cause major environmental problems. Much of the waste is in solid form and can be safely put in packages and placed in the trash. Liquid waste containing oil and grease dumped directly into the sewer, however, can block the system and cause wastewater to flow back-up .To avoid this you have to install and properly maintain a grease trap.

Grease traps capture the oil and grease from the flow of wastewater by slowing down the flow of hot greasy water through the grease trap (actually a tank) and allowing it to cool. As it cools, the grease and oil separate out of the water and float to the top of the trap.

The cooler water continues to flow down the drain pipe to the sewer while baffles prevent the accumulated grease and oil from flowing out of the grease trap. The size of the grease trap depends largely...

Open Your Eyes People

People, people, people! Dear average ordinary citizens of this world. Open your eyes and look around, can't you see that we are destroying the planet under our feet and thus ultimately all life who live on it.I used to have one black spot that clouded my mind and ability to think clearly. It was about what existed at the end of our galaxy. Sort of what comes next, is there another galaxy and if so what is after that one? Now I have two blind spots, this new one being: how can life on earth continue to exist when all we do is destroy and pollute? With the supersonic development occurring in China, the rapid growth of India and with many eastern bloc countries rapid emergence the earth's resources are being stretched like an elastic band fastened to a runaway train. Humanity has always eaten delicately at what is around and abundant; oil, coal, minerals and trees endlessly bear the brunt of mans insatiable demand, but the process has been slow and more akin to granddad mouse at 200lb cheddar!...
